Heena Makhija

Dr. Makhija is an Associate Fellow with ORF’s Economy and Growth Programme. She specializes in the study of International Organizations, Multilateralism, Global Norms, India at UN, Multilateral Negotiations, and International Security.

Heena was previously an Associate Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI); Guest Lecturer at Hindu College, University of Delhi; and Research Associate at Council for Strategic and Défense Research (CSDR). She has worked extensively on bilateral and multilateral track-two dialogues in the past.

Heena pursued her PhD from Centre for International Politics, Organization, and Disarmament (CIPOD), Jawaharlal Nehru University and her research focused on examining the politics of norm – making at the UN. She has published several journal articles on India’s engagement at the UN and has presented her research at various international forums.
