The Innovation Island Summit is a multistakeholder and cross-disciplinary conference focused on advancing Sri Lanka’s blue economy and that of other island states. Recognizing Sri Lanka’s vast marine resources, rich biodiversity, and economic potential through fisheries and coastal tourism, the Summit aims to tackle the pressing challenges of resource depletion, coastal degradation, climate change, and fiscal constraints. With Sri Lanka’s economy stabilizing in 2024, the Summit in 2025 provided a crucial platform to explore sustainable employment, climate resilience, technological innovation, and improved governance to foster long-term prosperity and resilience in island economies.
