As India continues its quest to become a leading power and expands its global footprint, new themes and issues are emerging as part of its foreign policy agenda. From engaging in non-traditional means of diplomacy, to being part of newer multilateral engagements, to dealing with humanitarian challenges in its neighbourhood, India’s foreign policy profile is sure to grow in the coming years. At the same time, India will also seek to re-engage with long-neglected issues and partners, as well as meet outstanding challenges that impinge on its domestic environment. This series of papers examines some of these themes and issues as new trends shape New Delhi’s ability to further its global reach and influence.
