Jayant Sinha is President of Eversource Capital and Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics (LSE). At Eversource, he guides India’s largest sustainable infrastructure fund, mobilizing large-scale capital and pioneering innovative approaches to finance infrastructure assets. At the LSE, he works with leading experts to advance new frameworks for sustainable development. He also chairs the Confederation of Indian Industry’s high-level Task Force that is formulating India’s sustainability roadmap. His research has led to acclaimed shows, books, and articles, including his recent work demonstrating how Net Zero is Net Positive for India and the world.

As a two-term elected Member of Parliament from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, Mr. Sinha represented three million people in an underdeveloped coal-mining region, winning in 2014 and 2019 with record margins. From 2019 to 2024, he served as Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Finance, overseeing the Ministries of Finance, Corporate Affairs, Statistics & Programme Implementation, and NITI Aayog, as well as regulators such as the Reserve Bank of India and SEBI.

Earlier, Mr. Sinha was Minister of State for Finance (2014–2016) and Minister of State for Civil Aviation (2016–2019). His tenure is widely recognized for innovative policy reforms, including piloting India’s landmark bankruptcy code, establishing the National Investment & Infrastructure Fund and the Higher Education Financing Agency, driving the privatization of Air India and multiple airports, and launching the award-winning UDAN Regional Connectivity Scheme. He also spearheaded major technology initiatives such as DigiYatra, Digital Sky, and the national Air Traffic Control Centre.

Before his public service career, Mr. Sinha was Partner at Omidyar Network, where he led investments in India and helped build several unicorns including DailyHunt, Quikr, and Tata1mg. He previously served as Managing Director at Courage Capital, leading global technology and India-related investments, after more than a decade as Partner at McKinsey & Company in Boston and Delhi, where he co-led the Global Software & Services Practice.

A globally recognized thought leader, Mr. Sinha has been published in the Financial Times, Indian Express, Times of India, Economic Times, Business Standard, Harvard Business Review, and the McKinsey Quarterly. He is co-author of the bestselling book India’s Green Startups.

Mr. Sinha earned an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School, an MS in Energy Management & Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BTech with Distinction from IIT Delhi, which awarded him its Distinguished Alumni Award in 2015. He has received multiple national recognitions, including Best Lok Sabha MP of the Year (2021), Best Parliamentary Committee (2022–2024), and the President of India’s award as a Top Parliamentarian (2024). In 2025, he received the prestigious Cumulative Achievement Award from the Indian VC/PE Association.
