Dr. Shahid Jameel established and for 25 years led the Virology Group at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology New Delhi. He was CEO of the DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance and Founder Director Trivedi School of Biosciences at Ashoka University. He is currently a Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and a Research Fellow at Green Templeton College University of Oxford UK.
