Location
Professor Jesse Scott is a Senior Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, as well as adjunct faculty at the Hertie School in Berlin since 2019. The focus of her work with ORF is the India-European Union trade talks and clean economy cooperation. She also analyses the reshaping of energy security by renewable energy, climate change, and geopolitics.
Jesse is a global expert on climate policy and the clean energy transition, who has served as International Director of thinktank Agora Energiewende, Deputy Secretary General of the European business group Eurogas, Coordinator on energy and digitalisation at the OECD International Energy Agency, Head of Environment Policies at business group Eurelectric, Head of the Brussels Office of thinktank E3G, and as a lawyer with White & Case.
She has held advisory roles toward senior political leaders, the European Commission, the UK, Italian, German, and Polish governments, the World Economic Forum, and major climate philanthropies. She guest teaches for the New York University School of Law, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, the School of Transnational Governance at the European University Institute, the Central European University, and University College London. Jesse has written extensively on the political economy of the clean energy transition, climate risk, and the evolution of new policy agendas in climate, digital, and European foreign relations.
Jesse earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in history and international law at Cambridge University. She is fluent in English and Italian.
