Group Captain Deepak Pant is a pilot in the Indian Air Force with flying experience of over 5300 hours on a variety of transport and trainer aircraft. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor and an Instrument Rating Instructor and Examiner. He has held various command and staff appointments in the IAF, including command of a communication flight and a transport squadron, and Chief Operations Officer of a flying station. The officer has served in Sudan (Africa) on deputation to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission. The officer is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College and Naval War College. He holds a Master’s degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University and an MPhil from Mumbai University. He is a graduate of the No. 1 Warfare and Strategy Programme conducted by the College of Air Warfare. He is currently posted in the Air War Strategy Cell at Air Headquarters in New Delhi.
