Sayantan Haldar

Sayantan Haldar is a Research Assistant at ORF’s Strategic Studies Programme. At ORF, Sayantan’s research focuses on Maritime Studies. He is interested in questions of geopolitics, maritime security, and regionalism in the Indian Ocean. 

Sayantan is a doctoral candidate at the Department of International Relations, South Asian University, New Delhi, where his thesis examines India’s evolving maritime security strategy in the Indian Ocean. He is also involved with the Indian Ocean Research Group Soc. (an academic observer affiliated to the Indian Ocean Rim Association) as Joint Secretary. Some of his writings have been published in Journal of the Indian Ocean Region, Maritime Affairs, India Quarterly, International Affairs, etc.
