Roundtable on Fragmentation in a Democracy: Role of Social Movements &  Media

The Observer Research Foundation in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, Berlin organised a conference on “Fragmentation in a Democracy: The Role of Social Movements and the Media”. The discussion was centred on two themes: a) The Changing Role of Civil Society in a Democracy/Democratic Governance, and b) The Impact of Media, Social Media and Technology on Democracy/Democratic Governance. The conference was chaired by Harsh Sethi. The speakers included Professor Trilochan Sastry, Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, Chakshu Roy, Sunil Abraham, Dr. Niranjan Sahoo, Dr. R. Swaminathan, Aditya Kalra and Ashok Malik.
