Panel: E–mobility

The transportation sector accounts for approximately 14% of global GHG emissions. As efforts towards building a new low–carbon economy gain momentum, e–mobility has emerged as a viable solution to curb tailpipe emissions. However, mainstreaming e–mobility solutions in developing countries is still an uphill battle which requires a transversal approach to boost business and technological innovation, investments, entrepreneurship, and appetite among manufacturers as well as the public.

India stands at the threshold of making a big leap towards electric vehicles in the next decade. This ORF panel at the Innovation Summit will examine the current state of e–mobility in the country and suggest a pathway for fast–paced and smooth integration of e–vehicles within the smart cities framework without affecting initiatives towards decarbonising the power sector.
