Farha Irani is currently the Deputy Town Planner in the Planning Department of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation. Her area of focus includes multi-modal integration and last-mile connectivity planning station area improvement studies and inclusive and barrier-free design initiatives.In her previous position as Urban Planner with the All India Institute of Local Self Government she was part of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) team working on the Revision of Development Plan for Greater Mumbai 2034. She was also engaged in the preparation of development plans for Mumbais K/East Ward and Bandra A Block areas.Her role as Deputy Chief (Town Planning Cell) in the MCGMs Business Development Department shaped her interest in developing inclusive policies through interactions with local stakeholders and institutions. In this capacity she worked on streamlining procedures for construction permits to improve Indias Ease of Doing Business ranking.She holds a bachelors degree in Architecture from Rachana Sansads Academy of Architecture University of Mumbai and a masters in Urban and Regional Planning.
