The Centre for New Economic Diplomacy (CNED) of the Observer Research Foundation, in partnership with the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women, hosted the Global Programme for Women’s Leadership (GPWL). GPWL was supported by the UK’s Department for International Development.

The Programme brought together 90 exceptional young women leaders from India, Africa and the Bay of Bengal Community to host conversations, working sessions, field trips, and cultural immersion activities under the 3 key pillars of Health, Sustainability, and Technology.

The aims of the Programme were threefold:

To invest in promising women leaders, who are the frontline responders to sustainable development in their individual countries, To help them build lasting networks while interacting with global leaders and industry experts in their fields (the programme invited nearly 55 guest speakers from across all sectors for this), and To challenge the traditional notions of flow of knowledge.
