We are looking for a Deputy Editor to join ORF’s Publications team. We want someone who can help deliver ORF’s lofty annual targets for producing and publishing insightful, high-quality research papers that bring new ideas into current policy discourse, in India and the world.
We will trust you to:
● Manage the publication of ORF’s Issue Briefs (IBs) and Occasional Papers (OPs) through all stages of the protocol, from reviews, to editing and production.
● When required, manage the publication of other long-forms, which may not fall under the Issue Briefs and Occasional Papers categories, and which will be assigned to you by the Publisher.
● Coordinate with the responsible ORF officials for the payment of honoraria to individuals who provide their services to the institution through all stages of the IBs and OPs protocol, including reviewers, freelance copy editors, and designers.
● Help build ORF’s roster of expert referees for its long-form publications.
We will need you to have:
● Strong command of the written English language
● A keen interest in ORF’s research domains
● A healthy work ethic
● At least ten years of work experience in a relevant field
● The willingness and ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own
● The willingness and ability to work fast and effectively, within tight deadlines, and often without direct supervision
