Pahi Saikia is a Professor of Political Science at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). Her academic specialization lies in Comparative Politics and International Relations. Professor Saikia has published three books from Routledge, book chapters and several articles in peer reviewed journals such as Political Psychology, India Review among others South Asian History and Culture on a range of subjects related to security and insurgencies, electoral campaigns and political behavior, ethnofederalism, identity-digital media nexus, women in post-conflict zones, and India's multilateral connectivity. Her recent book titled: Insurgency in India’s Northeast: Identity Formation, Postcolonial Nation/State- Building, and Secessionist Resistance (September 1, 2023) from Routledge, United Kingdom was co-authored by Professor Jugdep S.Chima, Hiram College, Ohio, USA. In 2018, she was awarded the Indo-Shastri Fellowship Grant to conduct her research at Carleton University, Canada. She was invited as a Visiting Academic to Perth Australia in 2013. Prior to joining IIT, she taught in term positions at the University of Victoria, Canada and served as a research associate at the Center for Asia and Pacific Studies, University of Victoria, Canada. She is the recipient of the Canadian Commonwealth Fellowship for PhD degree at McGill university, Canada.
