Mandar Apte currently manages the Cities4Peace initiative. Prior to this Mandar was a visiting scholar at George Mason University School for Conflict Analysis &: Resolution where he managed the Business of Peace Innovation Lab inspiring business to take an active role in promoting Peace (SDG16).Mandar has an MS in Petroleum Engineering (Univ of Tulsa) and worked at Shell for nearly two decades where he managed Shells GameChanger social innovation programme. While at Shell Mandar won the Accenture League of Intrapreneurs award for designing and implementing an innovation learning programme using meditation practices to over 2000 colleagues. He has given masterclasses on innovation intrapreneurhip and leadership at premier business schools in London Oxford Mumbai as well as spoken at Aspen Ideas Festival Social Innovation Summit Sustainable Brands.Mandar produced the From India With Love documentary film to reinvigorate the message of non-violence in the world. Aligned with this mission Mandar launched the World Summit for Countering Violence &: Extremism that brings together social justice activists and law enforcement executives from across the world for promoting peace and compassion. Mandar has studied practiced and taught meditation based leadership development programmes to thousands of leaders worldwide.
