Trade and investment relations between India and Africa have grown rapidly in the last decade. According to the World Investment Report 2016, India was the 8th largest investor in Africa in 2014. However, Indian investment in Africa is concentrated in a few sectors and countries. Although the scope of India’s development cooperation has expanded greatly, the correlation between Indian investment and Indian development cooperation initiatives is currently weak.

ORF has recently produced a paper analysing the latest data set of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on India’s outward investment. Read the paper.
