Workshop on Cyber Incident Reporting Norms

The Quad countries have distinct standards for cyber incident reporting – with Japan having no cyber incident reporting norms, and Australia, India and US requiring incidents to be reported within 6 hours, 12 hours and 72 hours respectively. Additionally, there are varying regulatory frameworks, terminologies and categorisation of cyber incidents that can impact the reporting period. This proposed virtual invite-only roundtable will discuss the cyber incident reporting norms of the Quad, the rationale for different frameworks, the challenges arising due to the difference in reporting requirements, and the potential benefits of harmonising these norms in the Quad Countries. It will bring together industry, government, and civil society stakeholders.
