गेल्या काही दशकांमध्ये आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञानातून सुरु झालेली शस्त्रास्त्रस्पर्धा, बाजारपेठा काबीज करण्यासाठी सुरू असलेली अनिर्बंध रस्सीखेच पाहाता, पुढील काळात या स्पर्धा मानवतेला कुठल्या वळणावर नेऊन ठेवतील याची शाश्वती राहिलेली नाही. त्यामुळेच आज आंतरराष्ट्रीय संबंधांमध्ये ‘सॉफ्ट पॉवर’ ही संकल्पना महत्त्वाची ठरते आहे.
आज जगभर सुरू असलेली आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्पर्धा हे न टाळता येणारे वास्तव आहे. ही स्पर्धा स्वीकारूनही हिंसा, आक्रमण, वसाहतवाद, शोषण या साऱ्यापासून दूर राहता येते. त्यातून आपल्या राष्ट्राचे आणि साऱ्या जगाचे कल्याण साधता येते, हे भारताने जगाला दाखवून दिले आहे. भारताचे हे सामर्थ्य त्याच्या ‘सॉफ्टपॉवर’मध्ये आहे.
भारताची ‘सर्वेऽपि सुखिनः सन्तु’ सांगणारी सॉफ्टपॉवर या सर्व पार्श्वभूमीवर खूप महत्त्वाची ठरते. योग, अध्यात्म, हिंदू-बौद्ध-जैन-शीख आदी तत्वज्ञाने, कला-क्रीडा अशा विविधतेमधील भारताचे संस्कृतिसामर्थ्य आज जगाने मान्य केले आहे. गरज आहे ते आपण ते पुन्हा एकदा समजून घेण्याची. हे समजून घेण्यासाठी #विश्ववेध व्याख्यानमालेच्या या व्याख्यानाला आवर्जून उपस्थित राहा.
The thriving arms race in the current volatile world has proved to be a serious threat for the future of mankind. In such tumultuous times, soft power politics has a vital role to play for promoting peace and sanity in the world. India has shown to the world that peace-oriented politics based on its cultural ethos, philosophy, value systems and arts can play a catalytic role in balancing the global political trends.
