About the talk:

Israel is one of the most hi-tech, resilient and innovative economies in the world.

The talk by Ambassador Ron Malka will trace the economic growth trajectory that Israel has witnessed on account of its innovations in technology. It’s open and free markets, technological edge, venture capital availability, and the quality of its research has put it on the map as among the world’s most developed economies.

Dr Malka will also touch upon the growing Partnership between India and Israel, reflected in the bonhomie between Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. He will chart out the synergies between Israel and India and the future growth path that the two countries are envisaging.


About the speaker:

Ron Malka is the Ambassador of Israel to India. He has a PhD in Economics and specialises in Banking, Economics and Capital Markets. Dr. Malka has worn several hats prior to this

posting: from serving in the military from which he retired with the rank of Full Colonel; then as a Dean of the School of Financial Markets and Banking, Acting chairman of TASE and finally as financial advisor to companies and institutions. He also served as an economic advisor to the Prime Minister’s commission to review the defence budget.

Between 2013 and 2018, he served as Director and Chairman of Investments, the ROM Fund (Municipal Employees) and Director and Chairman of the audit committee in SHABA- Automated Banking Services. He was also the Director and Investment Chairman of AGUR, a company which manages advanced training funds for post-primary teachers.
