Friday Afternoon Talk | Bangladesh and India: Shaping the future of the Indo-Pacific

Bangladesh is India’s largest trade and development partner in South Asia; the two countries share a close strategic partnership; and they continue to expand their cooperation in the realms of security, defence, transport, connectivity, and energy, among other areas. The panel, ‘Bangladesh and India: Shaping the Future of the Indo-Pacific’ will focus on Bangladesh–India cooperation in the context of India’s vision of the Indo-Pacific construct, and Bangladesh’s recently announced Indo-Pacific Outlook (2023) that seeks to promote a free, open, peaceful, secure, and inclusive Indo-Pacific. The deliberations will examine these twin perspectives, and explore how they might translate into collaborative actions that allow both nations to realise their mutual aspirations, and help shape the future of the Indo-Pacific region.
