Piera Tortora is Special Advisor to the OECD on sustainable finance, blue economy, and South East Asia engagement. Previously, Piera was the Head of the Secretariat of the Pact for Prosperity, People and the Planet (4P). Prior to this role, Piera founded and led the Sustainable Ocean for All Initiative at the OECD, and had also led work on Financing for Sustainable Development, including on Multilateral Development Finance, Small Island Developing States, Climate and Disaster Risk Finance, and Transition Finance. Piera also conducted and managed economic analyses on policy issues relating to economic development, mainly in low- and middle-income countries, including at the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (UN-FAO); as an independent consultant. Piera holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
