
Muhammad Waffaa Kharisma is a Researcher at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Jakarta, Indonesia. His work focuses on the intersection of geopolitics, sovereignty, and humanitarian issues, with particular attention to Indo-Pacific security dynamics, ASEAN’s regional role, Indonesian foreign policy, the Korean peninsula, the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar, and Indonesia’s maritime security. His recent writings have appeared in ISPI Commentary, Indonesia at Melbourne, The Diplomat, and CSIS publications. He has also taught part-time at Universitas Indonesia, covering courses such as Theories of International Relations and International Politics. Earlier, he worked with Bank Indonesia on a research project examining the economic impacts of geopolitical and socio-economic shifts. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom.
