A career bureaucrat with over four decades in Government, Dr. (Mrs.) Malini V Shankar, IAS (Retd) is the Vice Chancellor of the Indian Maritime University. She is an honorary Member of the Board of Directors of the World Maritime University.

Dr. Shankar holds a Ph.D in Institutional Economics from the IIT, Madras. She was the first Indian woman to receive the prestigious AAA Award from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines.
