Dr Amrita Jash is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations, Manipal Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Institution of Eminence), Manipal, Karnataka, India. She holds a PhD in Chinese Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She been a Pavate Fellow at the University of Cambridge, UK; an IAS Visiting Fellow under the Open Programme at Loughborough University, UK; and a Think Visegrad Fellow at The Polish Institute of International Affairs, Poland. Dr Jash has authored Mao Zedong & China’s Foreign Policy: The Man, the Mind, and Vietnam (Palgrave Macmillan, 2025), China’s Japan Policy: Learning from the Past (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023), and The Concept of Active Defence in China’s Military Strategy (Pentagon Press, 2021). Her research focuses on China’s foreign policy, the People’s Liberation Army, security and strategic issues related to India-China, China-Japan and the Indo-Pacific.
