The discussion explores how BRICS influences and leads change in the existing multilateral institutions, and global governance forums, to make them more representative and reflective of the needs of nations, and the current geopolitical and geoeconomic realities of the world. In particular, what is the relevance, purpose and mission of multilateral systems like the UN? Is global governance better delivered through plurilateral groupings like the G20 and BRICS? How do we preserve the ethics of a global system in such groupings? And if such groupings are the norm, then who decides, and who manages the multilateral order?
