Lavanya Mani
Lavanya Mani is a Fellow with Programme, Appraisal and Management Team
She is a part of the curatorial team at ORF, where she designs and curates content for its forums. Her work also focuses on geoeconomics and climate finance, particularly in shaping India’s relations with the world.
Previously, Lavanya worked as a Research Assistant to Joseph Stiglitz (Nobel Laureate) and Martín Guzmán (Former Minister of Economy, Argentina) on sovereign debt issues. During her time at Columbia University, she was a Student Scholar at the Institute of Global Politics, headed by Hillary Clinton, and also contributed as a Graduate Consultant with Goldman Sachs’ Sovereign and Economic Risk Group. She has also worked as a Consultant with the World Bank’s Global Macro and Debt team in Washington, D.C.
In addition, Lavanya has over five years of experience as a lawyer, specializing in cross-border investments and representing clients from India, the U.S., the U.K., and Singapore. She also spent two years working on climate and sustainability initiatives, furthering her expertise in global challenges.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Economic Policy and Data Analysis from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a dual law degree from Government Law College, Mumbai.
