As a CISO and Head Cybersecurity Sudhansu M Nayak specialises and spearheads enterprise cybersecurity (IT/ OT) cloud and data transformation solutions. He advises CxOs and Executive Boards on cyber risks and techno-operational mitigation data privacy and protection and compliance and governance. As an avid participant in multiple think-tanks he contributes to building of various components of national cybersecurity policies. To bridge the cybersecurity skill-gaps he mentors students and start-ups. An avid speaker he talks on Cybersecurity Digital and Cloud disruption and strategies and underlying human behaviour and leadership. His current research is focussed on the interplay of cybersecurity with global peace state espionage climate change international trade and strategic diplomacy.In his free time Sudhansu writes on Indian temples experiments on indo-continental dishes and dabbles in photography.

Amb Sujan R. Chinoy is the Director General of the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), New Delhi since 2019. A career diplomat from 1981-2018, he held several important diplomatic assignments, including as Ambassador to Japan and Mexico. A specialist on China, East Asia and politico-security issues, he anchored negotiations and developed confidence-building measures (CBMs) with China on the boundary issue from 1996-2000. On deputation to the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) from 2008-2012, he handled external and internal security policy including South Asia and the extended neighbourhood. During his long public life of more than four decades, he has dealt with political, security, defence, technology as well as trade and economic issues. His diverse Foreign Service career included posting at the UN and Saudi Arabia. He was the Chair of the Think20 engagement group for India’s G20 Presidency and is currently a Member of the high-powered DRDO Review Committee.

Sujeev Shakya is the Chair of the Nepal Economic Forum and a Senior Fellow at the National University of Singapore Institute of South Asian Studies (NUS-ISAS). He is also the Founder and CEO of Beed Management and a Senior Advisor at Bower Group Asia.

Sujith Sourab Guntoju is a climate policy professional with a background in urban and environmental planning. He obtained his post-graduate degree in Environmental Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi India. Over the years he has worked as a climate adaptation and carbon policy researcher in several organizations within India with significant contributions in revising the state action plans on climate change (SAPCCs) for four Indian states. His research interests are broad and encompass various areas such as climate adaptation policy water-food-energy nexus Nature-based Solutions urban climate resilience carbon markets net-zero policies and international climate policies. Recognizing his expertise and potential Sujith was selected as one of the co-leads for the Cities Working Group at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change's (UNFCCC) youth constituency known as YOUNGO in 2021.

Sukrit Kumar is a Content Coordinator - Hindi with ORF’s Media and Publications team. He contributes towards the Hindi digital platform. He also tracks India’s maritime strategy — security and governance issues in the Indian Ocean and Indo-Pacific; India’s national security, South Asia and maritime diplomacy.

Sukrit is currently pursuing a PhD on “हिन्द महासागर द्वीप देश और भारतीय सामुद्रिक राजनय: एक विश्लेषणात्मक अध्ययन” from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University.

Sukrit has been a contributor to various journals and newspapers.

Smt. Sumalatha Ambareesh is Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Member High-Level Advisory Grouping on Countering Terror and Violent Extremism Inter-Parliamentary Union

Dr Sumedh is a medical doctor and a public health professional specialising in health promotion. He has completed MBBS from Mahrashtra University of Health Sciences and Masters in Public Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has worked with Observer Research Foundation Mumbai for over four years and has worked on sanitation communicable diseases and other health issues. He has also worked with Aga Khan Health Service India on behaviour change communication aspects of menstrual hygiene management and palliative care at primary healthcare level.He is a filmmaker and a creative writer and has made awareness films documentaries and designed health promotion campaigns for governmental and non-governmental organisations. His special interest lies in sanitation and hygiene issues and he has worked on several research projects documentary films focused around the same.Sumedh runs a small firm called Samagra Creations that produces plays short films and other creative projects. He has translated books on public health written plays and songs. He currently works as a Public Health Consultant to the National Health Mission Maharashtra under the State Health Advisory Unit.

Sumit Roy is Assistant General Manager - Palm Oil Programme at Solidaridad Asia. Sumit leads the strategic planning and regional implementation of Solidaridad’s Palm Oil programmes across Asia. His role focuses on strengthening partnerships with national and local governments, industry stakeholders, NGOs, and donors to expand the reach and impact of sustainable palm oil initiatives. In addition to programme development, Sumit contributes to shaping policy dialogue and driving advocacy efforts to advance sustainable and inclusive transformation of the palm oil sector in the region.

Sunaina Kumar is Director and Senior Fellow at the Centre for New Economic Diplomacy at the Observer Research Foundation. She previously served as Executive Director at Think20 India Secretariat under India’s G20 presidency. In 2024 she was awarded the Maitri Fellowship by the Government of Australia and was hosted by the Institute for Global Development at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Her research focuses on gender and development, with an emphasis on building partnerships and cooperation among countries of the Global South. Her work is grounded in advancing human security and inclusive economic growth.

She has been a journalist for over 15 years and worked as a senior editor with the Indian Express and Open Magazine, and contributed news features to The Guardian, BBC, Der Spiegel, Al Jazeera, Die Zeit, IndiaSpend, and Mint, among others. Her journalistic work has been supported by grants from the European Journalism Centre, Dart Center for Journalism at Columbia University, Robert Bosch Foundation and Svran-Apeejay Journalism Foundation.

She has been a fellow with the Media Ambassadors programme by Robert Bosch Foundation in Germany. She is a founding member of the Indo-German Media Network and has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Australia India Youth Dialogue, contributing to initiatives for building people-to-people ties between countries.

Suneera Madhok is a feminist a humanitarian liberal democracy activist and a lawyer by profession. Nomos Associates her entrepreneurial legal venture specialising in intellectual property technology and mediation of disputes celebrated 10 years in February 2021. In the next phase she is upgrading her practice to meet social justice and human empowerment needs by combining law with technology for maximum impact. Voraciously curious she consumes information experiences and conversation with equal gusto. She holds multiple degrees in the field of law is currently learning to code and is a Raisina-Asian Forum for Global Governance Young Fellow 2020.

Sunil Suri is a Policy Officer at Saferworld where he works on the post-2015 development agenda focusing on peace, governance and justice issues.

Sunjoy Joshi has a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Allahabad University, India, as well as in Development Studies from University of East Anglia, Norwich. He also studied Upstream Economics and Risk Analysis at the Petroleum Economist, Woking, UK.

He joined the Madhya Pradesh Cadre of the prestigious Indian Administrative Services in 1983, but has taken premature retirement from the service in 2009 in order to pursue his primary interests in energy and environment.

During his career spanning over 25 years in the Indian Administrative Service, Sunjoy has gained experience across the conventional as well as non-conventional energy sectors. He has handled oil and gas exploration as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and was the Government nominated Director on the Boards of ONGC, OVL, OIL and MRPL. Sunjoy headed the Madhya Pradesh Energy Development Agency as its Managing Director and served as Chairman of M.P. Windfarms.

He has been Visiting Associate at the International Institute of Strategic Studies, London as well as Distinguished Visitor to the Programme on Energy and Sustainable Development, University of Stanford, USA.

Sunny has spent close to six years as a strategy consultant advising Fortune500 and fast-growing companies around their top-line growth agenda. He currently serves as CEO and cofounder of MilitarytoCorporate (M2C) which is Indias only talent advocacy firm that assists Indian military and para-military veterans transition to the corporate sector. Sunnys aim is to build a strong ecosystem around veteran hiring in India and project veteran hiring as the most preferred hiring pipeline in corporate sector in India and elsewhere.He also conducts lectures and talks on military leadership and its relevance to the corporate sector.Sunny is an avid follower of key geopolitical trends in South Asia and writes his observations by connecting the disparate historical regional and political dots. A native of Kashmir Sunny lives in New Delhi with his family.

Dr Suparna is a nutritionist by training and has more than 28 years of experience as a clinical, academic, and research nutritionist. At The George Institute, she is actively engaged in research projects on food systems, its drivers, food security, food and nutrition policy, dietary diversity and nutritional status of women and children in vulnerable communities.

Before joining The George Institute, she worked at the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) as a Professor and Head of community Nutrition, a faculty at Delhi University, a research dietitian at The Children‘s Hospital at Westmead, Australia, a consultant at the Planning Commission of India and a senior clinical nutritionist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.

Her research interests include developing innovative tools for nutritional assessment, evaluation of nutrition-specific programs, developing low-cost food-based solutions to address malnutrition, and food policies to address non -communicable diseases in India. In clinical nutrition, she has a special interest in medical nutrition therapy for children with inborn errors of metabolism. She is an expert member of the steering committee for Public Health and Nutrition under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. She is also a member of the task force formed by the Government of the state of Madhya Pradesh, India, to reduce MMR, NMR, IMR and malnutrition in the state.

Suraj Ganesan is a Counter-terrorism analyst at COVINTS Bangalore. His research areas include countering radical narratives and ideologies tracking operational capabilities of terrorist groups and studying the dynamics between conflict and climate change in the African continent.

Suranjan Das is presently Vice-Chancellor Jadavpur University Kolkata and Honorary Director Netaji Institute for Asian Studies.

Dr Surbhi Jain is a DM Resident in Neurology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore. She did her post-graduation in Medicine (MD) and under-graduation (MBBS) from Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Chandigarh. She was also a member of the Class of 2021 of the Global Clinical Scholars Research Training (GCSRT) of Harvard Medical School. She has a strong interest in global health issues health challenges at the grassroots public health policy and research on which she regularly authors in major publications.

Suren Parsyan is a PhD candidate of economics, an associate professor at the Armenian State University of Economics and a lawyer. His professional interests include macro and micro economic policy, infrastructure, anti-monopoly mechanisms, tax policy, energy system-tariffs, public debt management and mining.

Brig Sushil Tanwar, VSM, is an alumnus of the Military School (Ajmer) and National Defence Academy. Brigadier Sushil Tanwar has had a distinguished career spanning over twenty-five years in which more than fourteen years have been spent in Counter Insurgency environment in Jammu & Kashmir. He is highly decorated & has served in many prestigious appointments including the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Sudan. Brigadier Tanwar has also been associated as a senior research fellow with the Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS), New Delhi

Dr. Susmita Chatterjee is currently at the Maharaja Manindra Chandra College Kolkata as Assistant Professor in Economics and Visiting Professor of Department of Commerce for MPhil- Ph.D. Course Work. She has done Ph.D Dissertation in Department of Economics Calcutta University in 2013.She has done postdoctoral research from IIMC. She has a number of publications to her credit with reputed publishers such as Springer Emerald Sage etc.

Suyash Das is currently working as Project Coordinator at Observer Research Foundation where he conceptualizes, designs and executes ORF’s platforms and manages its outreach strategy. He has worked on various leading ORF platforms including Climate Action Champions Network, a Young Leaders Fellowship at Expo 2020 Dubai, a high-level regional convening on air pollution held in Himachal Pradesh, and Coca-Cola roundtable on water management. He has also worked with various other teams organizing ORF flagship events such as includes, Raisina Dialogue, Kigali Global Dialogue and the Think20 Secretariat. His research interests fall under the intersection of domestic economy and international relations.

Suyash has previously worked at ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth where he was responsible for all verticals of communication — internal and external and he also worked on livelihood and value-chain project development in rural India. He has also worked as a co-founder for a renewable energy start-up working on engineering procurement and construction of renewable power plants.

SuyashDesai is a research scholar studying Chinas defence and foreign policies. His research areas include Chinese security and foreign policies Chinese military affairs Chinese nuclear strategy India-China relations and strategic and security developments in East Asia.

Suyash Srivastava is a practicing advocate who has graduated with LL.M. from the University of California Berkeley (Boalt Hall) with a certificate in Public Law and Regulation in collaboration with the Goldman School of Public Policy UC Berkeley. He has previously interned with the Office of Co-Prosecutors with UNAKRT/ECCC in Cambodia where he notably worked on Case 002/02. He regularly writes on issues of law and policy and has several publications to his name in various journals. He is also currently serving as Co-Director of Arbitration and Human Rights Cohort at the Berkeley Global Society where he actively participates in discussions and writes on various issues of law.

Swagato Ganguly is Consulting Editor The Times of India and Research Affiliate Lakshmi Mittal South Asia Institute Harvard University. His two most recent books are: (as author) Idolatry and the Colonial Idea of India: Visions of Horror Allegories of Enlightenment [Routledge 2018]: (as editor/curator) Destined to Fight?: India and Pakistan 1990-2017 [Times Group Books 2017].

Swati was Digital Editor at ORF. She was responsible for ORF’s publications in Hindi.

Swati has a total experience of more than 20 years in the media. She has been a journalist for 17 years prior to joining ORF in 2019. Swati is the producer of the fortnightly Hindi video magazine ‘GOLMEZ.’ She started her career with TV journalism in Sahara TV and later moved to India Today. After a stint of almost nine years in television, she moved to multimedia journalism with BBC Hindi, NDTV Convergence and Firstpost.com.

Swati has published two research papers on social media lynching and tabloid journalism in UGC listed journals. She has also translated two books from English to Hindi — ‘Book of Humor’ by Ruskin Bond as Ajab-Gazab Meri Duniya, and the political biography of Naveen Patnaik by Ruben Banerjee.

Dr Swati Prabhu is a Fellow with the Centre for New Economic Diplomacy at the Observer Research Foundation.

Her research explores the idea of aid, evolving development partnerships and role of the global South. Swati's broader research interests include India-EU relations, EU development policy, and sustainable development. She previously served as the Research Coordinator at Think20 (T20) India Secretariat under India’s G20 presidency. Swati completed her PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India on the European Union's development policy and environment focusing on the challenges of the SDGs.

Prior to ORF, Swati was Junior Fellow at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS), Kolkata under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. In 2018, she was selected as an Erasmus+ Mobility Fellow from JNU to visit the Department of Political Science, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain. Swati has authored several policy briefs on furthering India-EU relations for the EU-India Think Tanks Twinning Initiative (EUITTI). She also regularly writes for The Telegraph.

Syed Mafiz Kamal is the Senior Analyst at Centre for Research and Information. He is an economist and a policy researcher. He was previously at the Policy Research Institute and the United Nations Secretariat. He is the co-editor of WhiteBoard magazine and the assistant editor of Policy Insights publication both focuses of various policy agenda of Bangladesh. He pursued his graduate studies at New York University.

Sylvia Mishra is a Washington DC based researcher working on Asian security issues nuclear policy and disruptive technologies. She is the Co-Chair of the WCAPS CBRN Working Group and CSIS PONI mid-cadre fellow.
