With a distinguished academic career spanning four decades Prof Abhay Pethe has held several positions in the University of Mumbai's Department of Economics such as Professor of Econometrics Lakdawala Chair Professor in Planning and Development and more recently Dr. Vibhooti Shukla Chair in Urban Economics and Regional Development. Most recently he was a Distinguished Fellow at ORF and Senior Resident Fellow at the Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy (MSE-PP). He has authored two books and has published extensively in reputed journals and also in books and magazines. He has successfully guided 25 Ph.D. students.He was the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Member of Management Council which is the highest executive authority in the University. Amongst other things he was also the Chairman Campus Development Council and a member of the Governing Board &: Academic Council of TISS. He has been a member of the Advisory Committee of the Central Board of Film Certification and Marathi Viswakosh Mandal. He has been associated with Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC) Bombay Chamber IMC and Bombay First. He is on the board of studies of various autonomous colleges. He Chairs the Economics Board at Welingkar Institute of Management and Research. Currently he is a special advisor to the Vice Chancellor of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE) and a Senior Fellow at the Pune International Centre (PIC).

Abhijit is senior fellow at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies. He used to coordinate the National Security Programme at ORF. Abhijit has been a visiting fellow at Sandia National laboratories Albuquerque and the Stimson centre in Washington DC.Abhijit is a defence economist by training. He has written for national and international dailies and has several academic publications and books.

Abhijit was Senior Fellow with ORFs Economy and Growth Programme. His main areas of research include macroeconomics and public policy with core research areas in monetary economics and the political economy of finance.

A former naval officer Abhijit Singh Senior Fellow heads the Maritime Policy Initiative at ORF. A maritime professional with specialist and command experience in front-line Indian naval ships he has been involved the writing of India's maritime strategy (2007). He is a keen commentator on maritime matters and has written extensively on security and governance issues in the Indian Ocean and Pacific littorals. His articles and commentaries have been published in the Asian Bureau for Asian Research (NBR) the Lowy Interpreter the World Politics Review the Diplomat and CSIS Pacific Forum.

Editor of two books on maritime security — Indian Ocean Challenges: A Quest for Cooperative Solutions (2013) and Geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific (2014), Abhijit has published papers on India’s growing maritime reach, security of sea-lines of communication in the Indo-Pacific region, Indian Ocean governance issues and maritime infrastructure in the Asian littorals.

In 2010, he assisted the late Vice Admiral G. M. Hiranandani (Retd) in the authorship of the third volume of Indian Naval History, Transition to Guardianship.

Abhijnan Rej is an Indian scientist, researcher, and writer. He is the Founder & Chief Scientist of Tarqeq Research LLP, a research and advisory firm focusing on mathematical and computational modelling of security risks. Rej has published extensively on Asian security and geopolitics. He has also worked on mathematical physics, economic policy, finance, and technology in course of a unique 20+ years’ career that sets him apart from his peers globally. He is the author of more than 30 research papers, reports, and briefs and more than 340 essays and media articles. Among other academic honors, Rej is a recipient of a Marie Curie Early-Stage Research Fellowship from the European Commission and a special Junior Research Scholarship from the Clay Mathematics Institute.

Abhilaksh Likhi is a member of the Indian Administrative Service. He is a Fulbright scholar and holds a Masters in International Public Policy from SAIS, Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC and a PhD in Development Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. Currently he is a Senior Fellow at the South Asia Studies, SAIS, Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC.

Abhinav Madhavanunni Research Associate: Urban Practitioners Programme at IIHS is an urban planner with an extensive experience in capacity building of urban practitioners across different sectors at different levels in the hierarchy. His primary areas of research and teaching include smart cities urban governance and sustainability urban transportation water and sanitation and nature-based solutions. He has worked with 10 state governments across India in developing individual capacities to address urban challenges.

Abhinav Mehrotra is an Assistant Professor at O.P. Jindal Global University and holds an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from the University of Leeds. My research interests include International law Human rights law UN studies Refugee law Child rights and Transitional Justice.

Abhirup Bhunia was until recently a senior research analyst with the Institute of Economic Growth, New Delhi, before which worked as an intern at ORF. He holds a Master's degree in Global Political Economy from the University of Sussex, UK.

Abhirup Chowdhury did his B.Sc in Microbiology from Maulana Azad College University of Calcutta: and M.Sc in Molecular Medical Microbiology from IIT Kharagpur (trained at IIT-KGP and Tata Medical Center Kolkata). He is currently pursuing PhD at Department of Biotechnology IIT Madras.

Abhishek Gupta is the Director for Responsible AI with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he works with BCG's Chief AI Ethics Officer to advise clients and build end-to-end Responsible AI programs. He is also the Founder & Principal Researcher at the Montreal AI Ethics Institute, an international non-profit research institute with a mission to democratize AI ethics literacy. Through his work as the Chair of the Standards Working Group at the Green Software Foundation, he is leading the development of a Software Carbon Intensity standard towards the comparable and interoperable measurement of the environmental impacts of AI systems.

His work focuses on applied technical, policy, and organizational measures for building ethical, safe, and inclusive AI systems and organizations, specializing in the operationalization of Responsible AI and its deployments in organizations and assessing and mitigating the environmental impact of these systems. He has advised national governments, multilateral organizations, academic institutions, and corporations across the globe. His work on community building has been recognized by governments from across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. He is a highly sought after speaker with talks at the United Nations, European Parliament, G7 AI Summit, TEDx, Harvard Business School, Kellogg School of Management, amongst others. Abhishek Mishra is an Associate Fellow with the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analysis (MP-IDSA). His research focuses on India and China’s engagement in Africa, aimed at developing partnerships under the framework of South-South cooperation, including a specific focus on maritime security cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region.

Abhishek Sharma is a Research Assistant with ORF’s Strategic Studies Programme. His research focuses on the Indo-Pacific regional security and geopolitical developments with a special focus on Northeast Asia.

He worked as a Research Associate with the Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS). He has been a Non-Resident Kelly Fellow with Pacific Forum and NASC Fellow with Takshashila Institution. Abhishek graduated in International Relations from South Asian University in 2021. His writings have been featured in several publications including Lowy Institute, Nikkei Asia, East Asian Forum, Binding Hook, NK News, South Korea Pro, and SCMP. He has also published for peer-reviewed journal.

Abhishek Sharma is Manager, Visual Media at ORF’s Mumbai Centre. His work includes event photography, video editing and curating visual content online. He also produces films and documentaries for the Foundation — both as standalone projects, as well as for publications.

Abhishek holds a degree in electrical engineering from SCET, Surat, and a post⎯graduation in sound recording & TV engineering from FTII, Pune. Before joining ORF, he worked as a freelance sound designer for several short films, documentaries, and PSAs

Aboli Mandurnekar works as a Manager at Invest India, National Investment facilitation and promotion agency of the Government of India. 

She specialises in Business Strategy, Sectoral expertise & Investment Initiatives and has spearheaded major projects in Lifesciences and allied sectors including the Sputnik Vaccine Manufacturing project during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has worked in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare during India’s G20 presidency, SCO presidency and other multilateral events. 

Aboli Mandurnekar has completed her graduation from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai and her graduation from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU), Varanasi. She holds a Master’s degree in Business administration (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi. 

Achyut Bhandari is a former diplomat and Director-General of Trade of Bhutan. He works as a consultant and has co-founded the Centre for Research on Bhutanese Society (CRBS) www.druksocialresearch.org a civil society organisation based in Thimphu.
