Investing in Growth: Unleashing the Potential of Africa

Africa is growth's new frontier: Its dynamic economies are contributing significantly to global growth; its businesses are fashioning new solutions and responding to development opportunities; and its entrepreneurs are implicating the business landscape across the globe. This African opportunity requires new pipelines for the flow of finance, and new instruments to direct investments. This panel will discuss the possible avenues for unleashing African growth by focusing on finance and investments. It will focus on digital Africa, sustainable Africa, and the African human capital potential.

Africa First: India, UK, and the Commonwealth

The UK, India, and Africa present a compelling trilateral relationship towards achieving the SDGs. The SDG agenda is a saga of transformations within India and the countries of Africa, along with the relationships they forge with traditional development actors like the UK. New and robust collaborations between these three partners could help create nimble institutional frameworks for the delivery of development projects, examination of their effectiveness, and promotion of transparency and accountability. This afternoon session will interrogate the role of relevant actors, priority sectors, capacities and capabilities, and individual efforts that can contribute to this critical 21st century agenda.
