This event is the second in a three-series’ discussions jointly hosted by the Nehru Centre, London, and ORF.
The pandemic revealed the effectiveness of the UK’s substantial, internationally integrated research establishment, as well as India’s independent ability to absorb and further develop best-in-class global tech. Sustainability in the post-pandemic era will depend upon better frameworks for collaboration on research — as well as a focus on solutions implementable by emerging economies like India. How can India and the UK deepen and broaden existing research links, and refocus efforts on climate tech and sustainability? How does industry in both countries work with research institutions to create commercial solutions? How could we design an India-UK R&D fund for research in public institutions that benefits both countries?
