Islam and democracy: Deradicalisation and counter-radicalisation

Talk by Radwan Masmoudi

Radwan Masmoudi is the President of the Center of the Study of Islam Democracy (CSID), a non-profit think tank in Tunisia. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the centre’s quarterly publication, Muslim Democrat. His think tank CSID was founded in March 2011 after the Tunisian revolution for contributing to the democratic transition in Tunisia and the Arab world; promoting and supporting values of democracy, citizenship, freedom and liberalism in the Arab world; providing better understanding of the relationship between Islam and democracy; political pluralism; Islamic perspectives on individual freedoms, civil rights etc.

The session will be chaired by Mihir Swarup Sharma, Senior Fellow and Head, Economy and Growth Programme, ORF.
