Talk by Rahul Sagar

It is commonly believed that Hindu nationalists have a coarse and militant view of international politics. This claim is not borne out by the facts. Drawing on groundbreaking archival research, Rahul Sagar shows that the Hindu nationalist thought is more subtle than its critics realise, and more conflicted than its supporters admit.

Rahul Sagar is Global Network Associate Professor of Political Science at New York University, Abu Dhabi. He was previously Associate Professor of Political Science at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, and Assistant Professor of Politics at Princeton University. He is currently writing a book titled Destiny: The Foundations of Indian Grand Strategy.

Harsh V. Pant, Head of Strategic Studies Programme, ORF, will deliver the opening remarks.
