Fellows Seminar Series | A Political Economic Analysis of China in 2021


China has emerged as one of the most consequential nations in the contemporary era, and it has become more important than ever to understand the developments in the country. As President Xi Jinping eyes an unprecedented third 5-year term at the helm of China in 2022, China stands at a “new historical starting point” of the “second centenary goal” — the aim is to transform China into a fully modernised, socialist nation by the 100th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China in 2049. With a reinvigorated Xi heading a strong China, what can we expect on the political and economic spheres?
