Sayli Udas⎯Mankikar is Senior Fellow at ORF Mumbai. She works on governance and urban policy — with focus on the politics of infrastructure provisioning and interplay of politics and urbanscape.

In her current role, Sayli has contributed towards policy for entrepreneurship in sanitation with Swachha Bharat Abhiyan (Gramin) and women’s hostel policy, in Mumbai.

She is the recipient of the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Award (2009) for her work in civic journalism, and Savitribai Phule Award (2010).

Sayli is a 2013 Kiplinger Fellow, and received the Reuters Foundation Fellowship in 2015 to cover the UN⎯IFAD Assembly at Rome. She has also been a 2004 Fellow for the International Rotary Exchange Programme to UK.

Her stories on open spaces policy of Mumbai, the Mumbai International Airport, illegal housing in suburban Mumbai and land scam at Lavasa have been recognised nationally and forced changes in legislations.

Sayli writes with national broadsheets, niche magazines and websites in India. She is currently learning Mandarin and also doing a part⎯time course in urban studies. She is a member of the local advanced locality management (ALM) group that works with civic corporation to maintain the neighbourhood she lives in.
