Women’s Health Futures: Innovation, Equity, and Lifelong Wellbeing

Women’s health in India is undergoing a transformation driven by evolving healthcare delivery models, increased policy focus, and the integration of technology. From reproductive and maternal health to mental health, non-communicable diseases, and nutrition deficiencies, the country faces persistent challenges alongside new opportunities. Digital health platforms, AI-enabled diagnostics, and mobile health interventions are beginning to improve access, particularly for underserved women in rural and peri-urban areas. Private and public sector initiatives are converging on areas such as tele-gynaecology, community-based screening for cancers, and targeted nutritional support. AI-based tools are beginning to assist in high-risk pregnancy prediction, remote diagnostics, and continuity of care, with promising pilots emerging in India. However, challenges persist in evidence generation, ethical deployment, and equitable access. The next phase of progress will depend on ensuring these innovations are equitable, culturally sensitive, and embedded within India’s broader universal health coverage goals.
