Converging Paths: Global Governance for Climate Justice and Health Equity

Climate change is increasingly recognized as a critical driver of health inequities—disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities in both Australia and India. From mental health challenges and rising vector-borne diseases to growing heat stress in dense urban environments, the impacts are complex and urgent.
This dialogue will provide a platform for interdisciplinary exchange between academic institutions, public health leaders, climate scientists, government officials, and development practitioners. The roundtable aims to explore integrated approaches to climate-health risk governance, leverage national strengths—such as Australia’s advanced health surveillance systems and India’s extensive community health networks—and identify collaborative research, policy and action pathways.
