India’s teachers, especially those in government schools, are often under heavy burden. In many states, severe teacher shortages persist. UDISE+ data shows over 1 lakh schools continue to operate with just a single teacher, handling multiple grades in overcrowded classrooms. Beyond teaching, educators spend over one-third of their time on administrative duties, surveys, and election work -leaving shorter duration for actual instruction.
While much has been said about AI replacing teachers or the need for AI literacy among students, far less attention is given to how AI can meaningfully support teachers, especially those working in under-resourced, high-demand environments.
This event flips the narrative. It explores how AI can be a practical, context-sensitive ally to teachers -lightening administrative loads, supporting differentiated instruction, and delivering real-time insights that inform better teaching decisions. From lesson planning and automated assessments to tailored student support, it will dive into scalable, ethical, and teacher-centred AI tools that empower, not replace.
Join us to dialogue a future where teachers are not overwhelmed - but supported by technology that puts their needs first. It is time to focus on AI that works for teachers, not instead of them.
