Subhrabaran Das is currently Head of the Department of Economics at Tripura University. Earlier, he was the Joint Secretary of the Indian Econometric Society and served as an Assistant Professor at Assam University, Silchar. He also taught the Master's students at Presidency College, Kolkata. He completed his PhD from Jadavpur University as a UGC Research Fellow and his M.Phil. from Burdwan University. He post-graduated from the University of Calcutta and graduated from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math. He has more than 25 years of research experience in economics and over 22 years of teaching experience. He has researched social, gender, industry and agricultural issues. He has published more than 35 papers in national and international journals, contributed chapters to edited books and authored a few books. Recently, he has submitted the ‘State Evaluation Report for the state of Tripura’ as a part of the 16 th Finance Commission, Govt. of India.
