Shreya Some is a Scientist in the Technical Support Unit of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)-AR6 (Sixth Cycle) Working Group-III (Mitigation). She is an economist by training. She has submitted her Ph.D. thesis titled Economics of Greenhouse Gas Emission Mitigation: A Study of the Indian Agricultural Sector at the Department of Economics Jadavpur University in November 2020. Her research interests include emission trend analysis co-benefits and costs analysis of various climate adaptation and mitigation options to aid policy prioritisation. She is passionate about reducing emissions from the agricultural system and a just transition of the agricultural sector towards sustainability. She has worked as a Contributing Author of the IPCC Special Report 1.50C and World Resources Institute Report-The Ocean as a Solution to Climate Change: Five Opportunities for Action. She was also an exchange scholar at the Technical University Freiberg Germany funded by the UGC-DAAD-PPP 2019-2021.
