Seema Puri

Dr Seema Puri, Former Professor in Nutrition at the Institute of Home Economics, University of Delhi has over 40 years of teaching and research experience. She has been conferred the Nutrition Leadership Excellence Award by NIFTEM and Min. of Food Processing in 2022 and the Rajammal P Devadas Memorial Award 2020 by Nutrition Society of India for her outstanding contribution in applied nutrition.

She has guided research of nearly 70 postgraduate/ doctoral students.  She has over 110 publications and over 3000 citations. Publications to her credit include a “Textbook of Nutrition and Dietetics", “Food Exchange Lists” and edited books on “ Diet and Ageing” and “Children in India: Opportunities and Challenges”.

She has been a member of the Scientific Panels on Functional Foods, Nutraceuticals and Dietetic Products and Labelling, Claims and Advertisements at FSSAI. She is a member of several professional bodies including SAIFRN, NSI and IDA.
