Rohit Chopra

Rohit Chopra is Associate Professor of communication at Santa Clara University, US. His research interests include the relationship between media and cultural identity, South Asian politics and culture, and new media. He is the author of Technology and Nationalism in India (Cambria, 2008), editor of a special EPW issue on the return of empire, co-editor of Global Media, Culture, and Identity (Routledge, 2011). His current research projects focus on media memories of the 1992-1993 sectarian violence in Mumbai and the relationship between Hindu nationalism and new media.
