Lamia Islam is currently working as Assistant Professor for the Department of Political Science at Jagannath University Dhaka Bangladesh.Besides she is involved in research at Micro-governance Research Initiative (MGR) and Institute for Environment and Development (IED). She is an active member of different institutions including Bangladesh Center for Political Studies (BCPS) and Jagannath University Teachers Association (JnUTA). As a volunteer activist she is involved with Green Environment Movement (GEM). She is also serving as moderator for Students against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) JnU Chapter which facilitates students to exercise leadership creativity and passion for peace and diversity in the society.
