
Joyati Bhattacharya is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Assam (Central) University, Silchar, Assam. Previously, she served as the Dean of the School of Social Sciences. She specialises in and writes on India’s foreign policy and Northeast India, Indian politics, partition politics and women’s issues.
Her recent publications include journals, such as, Economic and Political Weekly (Sameeksha Trust), India Quarterly (Sage), Jadavpur Journal of International Relations (Sage), Refugee Watch: A South Asian Journal on Forced Migration (MCRG), Anvesak (Sardar Patel Institute of Social Change), Contemporary Politics (Bangalore University), Global Politics (NIAS).
Her recently authored books include ‘Impact of MGNREGA on the Empowerment of Women: A Case Study of Northeast India, ‘The Act East Policy, India’s Eastern Engagement and Northeast India’, and’ Understanding Issues and Changes in Hinterlands: A Case Study in Northeast India’. She writes Opinion Pieces in India Today NE.
