American presidential polls have historically triggered global interest. India is no exception, more so after the end of the Cold War, which also coincided with the advent of economic reforms in the country. Today, India has moved to the right-of-centre tilt towards the US. It has not been without visible political, economic, security and geo-strategic benefits for the two countries. The US presidential elections have a lot more for India in the upcoming years. It is crucial to India's neighbourhood relations and its global political presence.
