The economic reform era since 1991 has introduced a new meaning to conventional terms like industrial law and labour law reforms. While industrial investments have increased, the pressure on the job-market, cutting across sectors and sections have also increased. M. Vijaybhaskar is Associate Professor at the Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai. He specialises in areas of industrial organisation, labour markets and their articular with technological change and product-market dynamics.
