Inclusive growth and jobs challenge

The economic reform era since 1991 has introduced a new meaning to conventional terms like industrial law and labour law reforms. While industrial investments have increased, the pressure on the job-market, cutting across sectors and sections have also increased. This has socio-economic and politico-electoral consequences, with an inevitable review of the existing phase and direction of such reforms.

M. Vijaybhaskar is Associate Professor at the Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai. He specialises in areas of industrial organisation, labour markets and their articular with technological change and product-market dynamics.
