The unanticipated British voter decision for the country to leave the European Union earlier this year has consequences for the latter's ongoing trade and FTA negotiations, including India and Canada. It has also possibly weakened the EU political structure alongside expanding aspects of federalism in individual member-countries, weakening what was originally thought of as an 'economic union'. Brexit itself is a product of a political process impacting on larger economic prospects.
