Balochistan has been in the throes of its fifth and longest insurgency for nearly two decades. Over the years, the nature and character of the Baloch insurgency has transformed. The province has become a virtual no-go area for the independent media. Reports of massive human rights violations have been filtering in but there appears to be a conspiracy of silence in holding Pakistan's feet to fire on this issue.
This event will examine the Balochistan question and assess the situation that obtains in the restive province.
