Tufail Ahmad
Tufail Ahmad is Executive Director of the Open Source Institute New Delhi. Previously he has worked with the Press Trust of India in New Delhi the BBC World Service in London and the Middle East Media Research Institute in Washington DC. For more than fifteen years Ahmad has written about jihadist organisations operating out of Pakistan. His book Jihadist Threat to India The Case for Islamic Reformation by an Indian Muslim was published in January 2016.Journalist by training Ahmad had his early education at a madrassa before his studies at Aligarh Muslim University Jawaharlal Nehru University the Indian Institute of Mass Communication and the King's College London. He is a columnist with the First Post Mail Today Open magazine and Dainik Jagran. His columns have appeared in several languages including Arabic Dari Turkish Urdu Hindi Spanish Polish Russian French Malayalam Tamil and Kannada. His work has been cited in the New York Times the BBC the Jerusalem Post USA Today the Sydney Morning Herald Nia Zamana of Lahore among others.
