Daniel Twining

Daniel Twining is Director and Senior Fellow for Asia at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, where he leads a 15 member team, working on the rise of Asia and its implications for the West. He previously served as Member of the US Secretary of State’s Policy Planning Staff responsible for South Asia and regional issues in East Asia; as the Foreign Policy Advisor to US Senator John McCain; and as a staff member of the US Trade Representative. Since leaving the US government, he has served at the US National Intelligence Council, working on a range of projects related to global strategic futures and Asian security.
